Why is it yearly rather than monthly?
Because splitting a bill isn't a monthly habit for most people. $2.99 is charged once a year and renews annually, so it is one payment to think about rather than twelve — and you can cancel it any time from account settings.
What happens if I go over the free allowance?
Fixed amounts (parking, tips, cash someone covered) are never metered — add as many as you like on any plan. Only photographed, OCR-read receipts count, first against your 3 free scans and then against the 1 a month that follows.
Can I cancel?
Any time, from account settings. You keep paid features through the end of the period you already paid for — cancelling mid-year isn't refunded, and nothing is taken away early. Full detail in the terms.
